It's great to see our children discovering the joy of letter writing this week! All children are writing to residents in Aras Mhic Shuibhne Nursing Home in Mullinasole hoping to put a smile on their face! RTE Home School Extra will be on at 4:15 p.m. where photographs/video content/messages can be uploaded. You can access this on your TV, your laptop/phone or tablet. Suitable for all ages.

Well done to our Garda Quiz team who came joint 5th in the quiz in the Abbey Hotel this evening. There were over 30 schools so it’s a fantastic result for a small school. You are great representatives for the school. Thanks also to all of our supporters!!

Pancake Tuesday
Just look at those smiles!
Thanks to our Parent’s Association for the delicious pancakes today! The children and staff enjoyed their pancakes with healthy fruit toppings. Donations are still coming in so we don’t yet have a final figure of the total raised but we will keep you posted. Thanks everyone for all the generous donations. It is sincerely appreciated.

Huge thanks to our grandparents who travelled from different parts of the country to be with us today. The children really enjoyed hearing about their experiences of growing up. From the Troubles, smuggling and the sally rod no question was out of bounds!! We then made some beautiful St Bridget's crosses under the guidance of the grandparents. Special thanks to Fr O Fearraigh for blessing the crosses and sharing stories about our patron St Bridget.

4th and 5th class enjoyed the Indoor Cumann na mBunscol blitz yesterday in Ballyshannon. Tough competition from local rivals Pettigo, Rockfield NS and Scoil Caitriona. Great event and we are looking forward to the outdoor event in May !

Santas Visit! We had a surprise visitor from the North Pole today. Santa took some time out of his busy schedule to give presents out to all boys, girls and staff in St Eunan's. It was fabulous. Wishing you all a fantastic Christmas from everyone at St Eunan's NS. See you on 6th Jan!

Eco Gift Wrapping for Sale
Every year in Ireland 3 million tonnes of gift wrap ends up in landfill-in other words a forest the size of Wales is required to produce that much wrapping paper! Our Green School elves have been getting creative with Christmas wrap! On Thursday evening we'll have 100% recyclable gift wrap and accessories on sale during the Christmas play. €2 for gift wrap and €2 for accessories. Please get behind the Green School and support our appeal!

Each morning both Semaj and James have been causing absolute havoc!!!! They even escaped Mrs Mc Daid’s filing cabinet!!! No escaping their antics

First Green School Initiative
We raised a total of €158.80 from our Cash for Clothes collection. This is the first of many actions as we focus on attaining our sixth Green School flag; to reduce litter and waste among the school community. Our new committee are buzzing so stay tuned for more great ideas! Thanks to everyone who decluttered!

The school is buzzing today! After many months of hard word the 3G all weather pitch is finally ready for action! The children had lots of fun running around and playing football and are so delighted to have this massive new play space. Thanks to the committee and sponsors for all their dedication to this project. It is invaluable to the school and local community groups and will be a fantastic resource to everyone in the area for many years.

School bags for Homeless Appeal
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the school bags for homeless appeal. We filled a total of 30 bags which is a fantastic achievement! Special word of thanks to our SNA Jody for coordinating the whole process. This will make some people’s Christmas in Ireland a little more comfortable so thanks for your contribution.

Maths Week Fun
We welcomed children from St Martins school in Garrison to our school on Monday. The children enjoyed getting to know each other and doing hands fun Maths activities on the Izak Maths cubes. Fun day had by all and it was great hosting this cross border initiative. #mathsweek #activelearning

Congratulations to last year's Green School Committee who took to the mic and delivered a brilliant presentation in the Abbey Hotel on Friday.We were are thankful to Mary Mc Gowan who invited us to attend the Donegal South Forums Environmental event. We got lots of tips and ideas about caring for the environment and will be sharing these with you in the coming months.

Paula Mc Neilis started her 10 week music programme today. As you can see the children were jumping, stamping and busting the moves while learning about crotchets and mimins. Great fun and we can’t wait until next week!

Well done to the children in the Senior Room for designing lovely comic strips as Gaeilge. The children in the rest of the school had lots of fun learning new phrases and vocab in an interactive way. Some future animators in the making. Maith sibh!

Herbs, herbs herbs!
Steffi from the Irish Heritage Council spent the whole day in the school teaching us about herbs. We planted 14 different herbs in our orchard. There is everything from oregano to lemon grass, evening primrose to camomile planted. We also created mini green houses and took a little break to enjoy some peppermint tea. Lots of fun and great to get out gardening again.
